Tumble Bee

I'm behind (as always) and haven't shared all of the pictures from Kate's final "performance" at gymnastics.

Pretty much Kate's show consisted of me chasing her around and people laughing at the fact that our bodies are pretty much the same right now.  Bellies sticking out way further than our feet....  Thank goodness I didn't have to wear that leotard...

I tried my best to snap some pictures during the event.  She was pretty much the cutest little gymnast that I've ever seen (I'm not biased at all...)

Proud girl with her medal.  Love her

Proud of Daddy

Ben ran a half marathon last weekend!

Kel, Jen, Kate, and I were his cheering section

We had a fun weekend with Kel and Jen.  Love having them here and Kate was in heaven with all the attention.

They also helped us out and babysat while we went and bought a new car..
(you know... just your normal Saturday afternoon activity!)

It's been a crazy couple of weeks, but long story short, Ben's car was totaled 2 weeks ago so we were on the hunt for another car.  (great timing, right?)
There is a big tax credit in Georgia for getting an electric car, so we bit the bullet and leased a Nissan Leaf for 2 years.  It will cost us next to nothing with the tax credit, so it was kind of a no brainer.

We feel like total Athens townies with our electric car.
So far so good, we love it!

BWN- we are ready for you!

Bruce, we are ready for you.

The past few weeks have been spent with lots of DIY projects and the nursery is officially done.

I absolutely love his room.  It is exactly how I envisioned and more.

Feeling lucky for a handy and helpful husband.  Ben built the BWN sign on the wall. hung the gallery wall, built the floating shelves, and built the bookshelf.  Ben outdid himself with all of his projects and the room couldn't look better because of it.

April 30 will be here soon and we can't even wait to meet him!

Time flies

Kate's school pictures from 1 year ago...

This year's pictures.  She seems pretty serious this year (or unimpressed by the photographer!)

Cracks me up.
I mean... the hand on the hip? haha

One in... One out...

I am trying to soak up and enjoy every last second of these last few days of having one nugget inside of me and the other outside.  It feels like this super sweet precious time that I do not want to forget or take for granted for a second.  Am I ready to not be pregnant anymore?  Absolutely.  Am I ready to meet my baby boy Bruce?  Definitely.

But I also don't want to wish it away.  There is something so very sweet and sacred about carrying one in me all the time and feeling him move and flip and react when Kate is crying/laughing/talking.  It is almost like this little secret that I have with the 2 of them.  I have my whole world inside of me and outside of me.  How is it possible to have this much love?  I don't know how to describe it and I am having a hard time putting it in words, but it is truly amazing and special.

9 more days of having 1 in and 1 out.

Hard to believe, but I am going to enjoy every second of it.

18 Months

Kate is 18 months

1 and a half years old?

How did this happen?

I know I posted about our little birthday "celebration" yesterday, but wanted to write a quick post about my sweet, funny, dramatic, silly 18 month old.  I don't want to forget a second about this age and this perfect little girl that we just couldn't imagine life without.

Kate is pretty much hilarious these days.  She learns new words and phrases all the time.  "OH MY GOSH" being one of them.  She has some seriously funny facial expressions and loves to mimic whatever we do.  She is crazy about her daddy and loves running around chasing him and "hiding".  She loves to read, swing, be outside, do puzzles, stack her blocks, and watch this weird video on youtube that has tons of little kid songs sang by cartoons with british accents. ha

She is starting to be a bit of a diva... Can throw a mean temper tantrum when she doesn't get her way (not cute) but will immediately come give you a hug and a kiss when she gets over it.  She loves the word "no" and "huh uh" while she shakes her head no, the girl knows what she wants and will let you know if you're not giving it to her.

We went to her 18 month appointment this week and she is perfect.  Hitting all her milestones and doing everything an 18 month old little gal should be doing.  She weighs 24 lbs (25th percentile), and she is 31 inches (70th percentile) She must be smart- 90th percentile for head circumference ;) She did not like those shots this time around... poor thing!

There is nothing better than her smile, hugs, and kisses.  The girl will melt your heart in a second.

18 months old is pretty awesome and she is so much fun these days.

Sweet Kate we love you so much and thank God for you every day.

Easter Weekend

We had a perfect Easter Weekend.

MRG, DiDi, and Katie all came down to spend the weekend with us and we had a blast.

Perfect weather, lots of laughs, lots of outside time, and all the attention on Kate.

Saturday was Kate's 18 month bday.
We celebrated with a jump jump party and a cupcake for her.

Aunt Katie tried to join in...
Fail.

Kate loves her MRG

We jumped her around which she thought was hilarious

 Wore her right out

Then inside for a yummy red velvet cupcake as big as her head.
She was happy to share with her 2 favorite guys...

Easter Sunday we woke up and got spruced up for church

Kate wasn't all that interested in her easter basket, but it was cute anyway!

DiDi made Kate the cutest jacket and most gorgeous dress for Easter.  The pictures don't do it justice, but we tried!

A little car ride with her granddaddy before church..

I mean... Look at this dress and this adorable little girl.

After church, Maggie and Steve came and joined us for lunch (I'm horrible and didn't get any pictures of all my people!)  We had a feast and then went outside for an easter egg hunt!

Clearly there was no competition for Kate, and her easter egg hunting strategy was to find an egg, open it, eat whatever was inside, then move onto the next one!

Such a fabulous weekend... Love having family here and missing them already!
