Rice Cereal

Kate has pretty much been an awesome sleeper since week one.  She slept 6 hours straight our first week home and was consistently sleeping 8-9 hours by about 6 weeks.  (Thank you Baby Wise, Aunt Katie, and a lots of luck!)  We have gotten very spoiled by her amazing sleeping habits and when she started waking up every 4-5 hours a couple weeks ago, we were not happy parents.

We told the pediatrician that she was losing her champion sleeping habits and she said that it was time to start some solid foods.  We began this week... So far most of it ends up all over here and not so much in her belly, but we are making progress!

(Oh, and she is back to sleeping 12 hours! yipee!!)

Ready for my first taste of cereal!

4 Month Pediatrician Visit

Kate had her 4 month check up last week.  She is perfect.

In the waiting room, waiting on the doctor

Waiting wore her out...

She took her shots like a champ.. Didn't even cry on the first one!

Bath that night, showing off her bandaids

This sweet girl is growing like crazy. She is pretty much average in all categories:
Length: 24.5in (50th percentile)
Weight: 14lbs (45th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16in (55th percentile)

Kate's Valentine...

We wrapped up the weekend in Monroe at Jesica and Matthew's house.  Meredith drove down from Atlanta and we had a blast catching up and playing with our sweet babes.

Kate loves her Auntie Mere!

We knew these 2 were meant to be when we told each other what we were naming them and it was "Will and Kate".  Forget British royalty... Aren't they just the most perfect prince and princess you have  ever seen?

Then Miss Kate starting making her moves... We might be in trouble with this gal!

Will needed a drink after all those snuggles... ;)

We are so thankful for our best friends and this new generation of besties...

Snow Day Fun

We have had a little too much fun being off of work and trapped in the house during this snow/ice storm.  It doesn't happen very often in Georgia, so when it does, we definitely enjoy it!

All bundled up, ready to go outside to play!

Kate and Mom

Our little snow angel..

And then the first sledding experience!  We had to use a snowboard.. Note to self, buy some sleds for next year!

(Ben gets a little nervous here... they are about to run into the trees!)

Kate loved it!

The dogs had fun too! (we are babysitting Callie while Kel and Jen are getting tans on the beach in the Philippines.. lucky!)

And then the cabin fever begins....

Ben's hair is probably the longest that I have ever seen it right now... He and Kate had a crazy hair competition.  I'm not sure who won...

Then we decided to just go ahead and teach Kate how to walk.. forget crawling or even rolling over!

Sweet Baby Kate

I am sure that this blog is about to be infiltrated with all things Kate.  This little gal came into our lives and changed it forever.  She filled a gap that we didn't know existed... She has made us the happiest people on the planet and we are so grateful for this sweet baby girl.  Here are Kate's monthly "birthday" pictures to get everyone caught up.

As you can see from the pictures, she is the happiest and sweetest baby on the planet.  We are so blessed to have this perfect gal in our lives.

Hello World!

It is snowing… In Georgia.  So, after several glasses of wine, some phone calls with old friends, and a small case of cabin fever- I have decided to start a blog!

Kate is 4 months old now and growing (way too quickly) before our eyes.  I have been thinking—I don’t want to forget any of these sweet moments and I want a way for our family and friends near and far to be able to keep up with us and what is going on in our lives.  So… this blog was created!

I do not and never have considered myself a writer (so don’t judge!) but I do enjoy reading other friends/strangers blogs so I am going to dive into the blogosphere myself and we will see what it becomes.  This will be my little piece of the internet to share about my wonderful family and our sweet life in Athens, GA.
