Cutie Babies

We had the Chancey's over for a sleepover this weekend.  It's kind of a monthly tradition that we drink beers, have fun, and act how we did before kids (except we are at home... with kids.) Its better than nothing and I love it.  I really didn't take one picture of the adults (typical) but I did capture some amazingly cute baby moments.

Get ready to just die over this overload of cuteness...

Will is a little more advanced in the walking department than Kate.. But little miss priss got around just fine.  What a gentleman, driving her around already.

We also finally got a chance to go to the neighborhood pool and these 2 were pretty happy having a pool deck picnic.  I could just die over these babies these days.  This age is too much.

Sweet ear plugs Kate... (poor thing)

And check out that belly.

Best dad's around.  Love those guys

And of course there is always time to taunt the puppies at home...

These 2 are growing WAY too fast and I am so not ready to face reality that they are about to be 1.. but it really does not get any better or cuter than this age!

Productive weekend over here!

I have been horrible about blogging lately.  I had a ridiculously busy week at work last week and just life in general has been a little hectic, but I am back and excited to show off our awesome project from the weekend!

We were supposed to have a busy fun weekend in Atlanta to celebrate the Manfre's anniversary, see Kel and Jen's new house, and visit with everyone but then (surprise surprise) Kate woke up looking like this on Friday am...

I know, it is starting to feel like the name of this blog should be "Kate's Illness of the Week"
Anyway- we decided it was probably best to just stay at home and try to get this girl feeling better by Monday (she does.. we think that maybe its just allergies..?)

Now that Kate is moving and grooving I have been wanting an upholstered ottoman for our living room that would be more safe for her to pull up on and that we can move around so she can have more space to play.  I started shopping around for one, but those suckers are expensive!  So, we decided to try to make one ourselves!

I am clearly a new/inexperienced blogger because I did a horrible job of taking pics of the step by step process, but basically we got most of our instruction/inspiration from this tutorial and this tutorial and it went kind of like this.. Ben built the box, we measured and drilled holes in it for the tufting, we glued foam to the top, we went to get mexican and drank too many margaritas then came home and stapled on batting and the fabric, we woke up the next day and took off the batting and the fabric so we could sand down the edges a little bit (whoops! thanks a lot sr sol...) then we redid that step, made some buttons, and did our tufting.

Kate did some serious supervising....

I am so so happy with it.  It is exactly what we needed in our living room and overall it was pretty easy! It saved us lots of money and we were able to get a custom piece that fits perfectly in our space.

We worked hard today... Enough to wear a girl right out!

10 Months

I know I say it every month, but I really can't believe this chick is 10 months old!

It seems like she has changed A LOT this month.  I feel like my baby is turning into a little person.  It is so fun watching her change and get a personality, but where does the time go?

You can see how much she has changed this month with these pictures... It is impossible to get this gal to sit still! (the puffs helped a little bit.. :)

Obviously the big change this month is that this girl is on the move.  She is crawling all over the place and pulling up and standing.  She loves to explore and loves playing with the door stop spring.  She is pretty much eating all foods these days and loving everything, especially when she can feed herself.  She likes to throw things and bang things together.  She has started doing this bwah bwah noise with her finger on her lips (I'll have to get a video of that!).  We still only have 2 bottom teeth, but I think there are like 6 coming in at once on top.. Might be a rough couple of weeks!

This girl is so much fun.  Always smiling, laughing, clapping, and playing.  She loves her sister Wrigley and loves being around her mommy and daddy.  Kate loves some attention.  This new stage of moving and exploring is so much fun.  We really can't get enough of her.  She is our whole world and we love her to the moon and back.

Happy 10 months sweet girl!

Side Look

We have literally been trying to capture a picture of this for months.

The Side Look

This is one of her new favorite things to do.  She will stop everything she is doing and give you "the look".

Cracks me up every time.

What a Weekend....

I thought my weekend blog post was going to be all about going to Alpharetta and picking up my sweet nephews to come play with their aunt and uncle for a few days at "Camp Kikakee".  Hopefully we will get a redo soon because our weekend was nowhere near as fun as it was supposed to be...

Kate got super sick this week.  Daycare called Tuesday around 5 and said we needed to come get her because she had a 103 fever.  I immediately left work and got her, not too concerned.  Unfortunately, we've become sort of experts at having a sick little gal.

Well this was not our normal ear infection.

At first they thought Bronchiolitis.  We have had that before.  We started breathing treatments and an antibiotic.

2 days later she was not better... mostly worse and not drinking/having wet diapers. Also, now Ben had gotten sick as well and was pretty much stuck in bed. (Thank goodness for Tee Tah on Friday for helping take care of the 2 sicks babes-- thank you again wink!)  We went back to the pediatrician and  she had to get chest xrays.

Little miss has PNEUMONIA.

Seriously?

She had to get an antibiotic shot, start prednisone and a stronger oral antibiotic.  The doctor said that she would give us another night and if she didn't start getting more hydrated and perking up they were going to have to admit her to the hospital for fluids and IV antibiotics.

This mama was getting scared/overwhelmed/nervous.

I took her back to the doctor Saturday morning and she was looking/sounding a little better and she was starting to get a little more energy.  She was still nervous about the dehydration but didn't feel inclined to admit her right away.  She had to get 2 more antibiotic shots and they sent us home.

The rest of the weekend was spent nursing my 2 loves back to health.  Both are doing a little better.  (I don't think Kate has come off of my hip for more than 5 minutes all weekend.)  She is drinking more today and I think we have turned the corner.  I think the prednisone is making her a little crazy and she has been WILD at night.  Needless to say, I am exhausted.

Praying for a good night's sleep for everyone at our house tonight.
