Sorry for the Long Break....

The Nyquists have been struggling the past few weeks with some major sickness...  2 weeks ago I got the black plague (lost 14 lbs in 24 hours...) which took about a week to recover.  Then last Saturday am we wake up to this poor little face...

Yup- double pink eye.

Awesome dad took her to the Saturday urgent care clinic and got her medicine while I got to do some shopping with some work friends.  We spent the rest of the weekend cuddling and getting better.

Then Friday Daycare calls... "Come pick up Kate- 102 degree fever" I go get her and bring her straight to the doctor...

Yup- double ear infections.

This girl can't catch a break.  Everyone tells me that she is going to have the strongest immune system and she will be the healthiest kid etc etc... but man its hard to watch this sweet little pumpkin get sick all the time right now.

So needless to say, I haven't been too concerned about blogging the past few weeks, but hopefully I can do lots of catch up posts this week!  Here's to hoping for a healthy week/weekend!

A Family Filled Weekend and a Baptism

My heart is happy whenever we have family in town.  It is even happier when we get 75 degrees and sunny in the middle of March.  We had a fabulous weekend.

DiDi, MRG, JM, and Erica all came down on Saturday.  We spent the day soaking up the sun at Pulaski Heights BBQ and then the UGA baseball game.  The game was cut short due to an explosive diaper... we won't get into any more details about that...

On Sunday we all headed downtown to First United Methodist for Kate's baptism.  Ben and I also joined the church on Sunday, so we are super excited about that.
Kate was beautiful.  I did a horrible job at taking pictures and the ones that we got do not even come close to doing justice to the GORGEOUS dress that my mom made for her.  It seriously could not have been more beautiful and it will be such a special heirloom.  Love our DiDi.. She is awesome.

Waiting patiently for church to begin

You can't tell in any of the pictures, but this girl gave the Pastor the biggest grin you have ever seen when she went up there..  too sweet

 Proud parents

With the Guthrie clan (we missed Aunt Katie and Uncle Brendino!)

Baby Will and his momma and Grandparents came too!  Love them

The Nyquist/Donges crew.  Those kids were angels in church! I was very impressed!

Kate and her sweet godparents

Hattie did a great job of testing out and breaking in all of Kate's toys... Now maybe Kate can figure out what to do with them.  These 2 just melt my heart.  Future best friends :)

Getting baptized will wear a girl right out....

We have a tradition in my family of getting lei's for special events like weddings, birthdays, and now I guess, baptisms!  Aunt Meg and Aunt Claire sent these for us.  They were beautiful and smelled heavenly.

We couldn't resist doing a little photo shoot of sweet Kate with the lei's...

It was a fabulous weekend..  It meant the world to us to have almost all of our family here for it.  And look... Kate is already taking this church thing pretty seriously, saying her prayers!

5 Months

I can hardly believe that this chick is 5 months old...  Everyone told me that time flies by, and I really didn't get it until now.  She is really getting a fun personality and is pretty much the happiest baby ever.

This girl loves smiling and giggling, looking at herself in the mirror, her lovey/bunny, her binky, being held and standing up, eating new foods...

and her puppy!

Birthday Week

Well I'm a little behind on the blog and I have my birthday week to blame for it.  That's right... we don't do birthDAYs at our house, you get a whole week to get spoiled rotten.  It is one of my favorite traditions.

Ben did it up this year.  I was seriously the princess of the universe last week and I got some awesome gifts.  Lotto tickets, a spa day, an amazing dinner date at Cinco y Diez, and my most exciting gift-- tickets to Michael Jackson Cirque du Soleil.  I am so excited about that I can barely wait until May!

I don't have any pictures from the week because I was too busy soaking up my time with my sweet husband and our baby girl... I am so grateful and blessed for my amazing family.  I have a feeling 28 might just be the best year yet! :)

Raley Joyce

We finally got to meet Raley Joyce.  She is perfection.

Erin is my oldest friend in this world.  Our parents were best friends in college and we have been bes
t friends since diapers.  We have laughed until we cried together, really cried together, grown up together, played sports together, gone to proms together, been in each other's weddings, and now we have baby girls together... There is nothing more special than walking into your oldest friend's house and introducing your daughters to one another.  These girls are destined to be the best of friends and I can only hope and pray that they mean to one another what Erin has meant to me.

Last weekend Ben, DiDi, Kate, and I trekked to Chattanooga to spend the day with the Ingrahams and Lisa.  It was a fabulous day full of baby snuggles and then a fun walk outside at the RiverWalk.  Worth every second of the 6 hours total in the car to spend the day with them!  Can't wait to go back..

 Loving on my sweet niece.

 Kate got some attention too...

The grandmothers... Can you tell they are pretty happy??

Sweet girls, meeting for the first time...

And then Kate tried to eat her... Raley was not a fan.  :)

It couldn't have been a more beautiful day so we got to take the babes out and go for a stroll.  We loved it!

 2 generations of best friends...

Love you sweet friends!! So excited we are parents together!
