Labor Day Weekend

We soaked up every minute of this 3 day weekend and had an absolute blast.

Friday night was the first night of high school football, so mommy got to spend her evening working some Friday Night Lights.  It was actually pretty fun and it felt good to be back on the sidelines for a few hours.

And then REAL football started on Saturday.  Saturday in Athens and it was time to tee it up between the hedges!  I feel like we kind of wait for football season all year round and it is SO fun when it is finally here.

Wrigley is pumped about it too...

It was a family affair for the UGA v Clemson game.  The whole Donges crew AND Kel and Jenny came up.  We all got to tailgate together.  It was HOT, but we had the best time.

How cute are these cousins?

My other favorite little girl in her cheerleading outfit.  Adorable.

And of course, these 2... First of many tailgates together.

Kate had lots of babysitters at the tailgate.  Honestly, I didn't know where she was half the time!  (mother of the year..?)

And of course.. this little athens family..

We danced, and drank, and played, and sweat for a few hours at the tailgate and then the wonderful Aunt Katie took home the 3 littles so that Dave, Ben, little Ben, and I could go to the game.  It was seriously the most generous thing ever and I was so happy/excited/pumped to go to this game.  Not sure how many games I will be able to make it to this year so let me tell you, that was a TREAT.  (Thanks again, Kate!)

It was Dave AND little Ben's first UGA game.  It was so much fun to go with them and it was awesome to watch that little orange head's face light up walking into that stadium.

We got there early enough to go down by the hedges and see those football players up close.  Pretty cool.

We cheered our hearts out and pulled the dawgs through to a BIG victory. YES!

There is seriously nothing better than a Saturday in Athens.

Sunday we woke up and had crazy/silly cousin time.  It was the easiest morning I've had in months.  Kate absolutely loves having her cousins around.

The Donges' gave Kate this awesome teepee for her birthday and it was a hit with everyone!

Then we all headed to Alpharetta for some pool time.

And to meet the newest little cousin..
Kate was terrified of her! Haha

Monday was spent relaxing at home with this sweet face

Plenty of snuggles and kisses from her sister!

Hope everyone else had a fabulous long weekend...
Here's to hoping this week feels short, we are off to Chicago next weekend! Yipee!

Cutie Babies

We had the Chancey's over for a sleepover this weekend.  It's kind of a monthly tradition that we drink beers, have fun, and act how we did before kids (except we are at home... with kids.) Its better than nothing and I love it.  I really didn't take one picture of the adults (typical) but I did capture some amazingly cute baby moments.

Get ready to just die over this overload of cuteness...

Will is a little more advanced in the walking department than Kate.. But little miss priss got around just fine.  What a gentleman, driving her around already.

We also finally got a chance to go to the neighborhood pool and these 2 were pretty happy having a pool deck picnic.  I could just die over these babies these days.  This age is too much.

Sweet ear plugs Kate... (poor thing)

And check out that belly.

Best dad's around.  Love those guys

And of course there is always time to taunt the puppies at home...

These 2 are growing WAY too fast and I am so not ready to face reality that they are about to be 1.. but it really does not get any better or cuter than this age!

Productive weekend over here!

I have been horrible about blogging lately.  I had a ridiculously busy week at work last week and just life in general has been a little hectic, but I am back and excited to show off our awesome project from the weekend!

We were supposed to have a busy fun weekend in Atlanta to celebrate the Manfre's anniversary, see Kel and Jen's new house, and visit with everyone but then (surprise surprise) Kate woke up looking like this on Friday am...

I know, it is starting to feel like the name of this blog should be "Kate's Illness of the Week"
Anyway- we decided it was probably best to just stay at home and try to get this girl feeling better by Monday (she does.. we think that maybe its just allergies..?)

Now that Kate is moving and grooving I have been wanting an upholstered ottoman for our living room that would be more safe for her to pull up on and that we can move around so she can have more space to play.  I started shopping around for one, but those suckers are expensive!  So, we decided to try to make one ourselves!

I am clearly a new/inexperienced blogger because I did a horrible job of taking pics of the step by step process, but basically we got most of our instruction/inspiration from this tutorial and this tutorial and it went kind of like this.. Ben built the box, we measured and drilled holes in it for the tufting, we glued foam to the top, we went to get mexican and drank too many margaritas then came home and stapled on batting and the fabric, we woke up the next day and took off the batting and the fabric so we could sand down the edges a little bit (whoops! thanks a lot sr sol...) then we redid that step, made some buttons, and did our tufting.

Kate did some serious supervising....

I am so so happy with it.  It is exactly what we needed in our living room and overall it was pretty easy! It saved us lots of money and we were able to get a custom piece that fits perfectly in our space.

We worked hard today... Enough to wear a girl right out!

10 Months

I know I say it every month, but I really can't believe this chick is 10 months old!

It seems like she has changed A LOT this month.  I feel like my baby is turning into a little person.  It is so fun watching her change and get a personality, but where does the time go?

You can see how much she has changed this month with these pictures... It is impossible to get this gal to sit still! (the puffs helped a little bit.. :)

Obviously the big change this month is that this girl is on the move.  She is crawling all over the place and pulling up and standing.  She loves to explore and loves playing with the door stop spring.  She is pretty much eating all foods these days and loving everything, especially when she can feed herself.  She likes to throw things and bang things together.  She has started doing this bwah bwah noise with her finger on her lips (I'll have to get a video of that!).  We still only have 2 bottom teeth, but I think there are like 6 coming in at once on top.. Might be a rough couple of weeks!

This girl is so much fun.  Always smiling, laughing, clapping, and playing.  She loves her sister Wrigley and loves being around her mommy and daddy.  Kate loves some attention.  This new stage of moving and exploring is so much fun.  We really can't get enough of her.  She is our whole world and we love her to the moon and back.

Happy 10 months sweet girl!
