Lake Day

Kate and I got to spend the morning at the lake with the Donges crew on Saturday.  Poor Ben had to work all of memorial day weekend (dang pools!) So the Donges clan adopted Kate and I for the day and took us out on their boat.

We had so much fun and this girl was just plain cuteness overload.

Sunbathing beauty... I can't get enough of this girl

And what about these 2?  Future best friends, I'm sure of it

It was such a fun day and I am so glad we got to spend the day with them.
Not sure how I didn't get any pictures of my handsome nephews or with Kate and Dave!

Thanks for having us Donges crew!

7 Month Pictures

Finally getting around to posting Kate's sweet 7 month pictures. Sorry for the overload...
but how in the world could you choose just 1?

Right now Kate is weighing in at 16 lbs 14 oz.  She is still just the happiest baby you have ever seen.  She is constantly smiling and giggling.  She is super ticklish on her thighs and tummy.  She loves to "talk", go on walks, and "superman" during tummy time.  She is moving more and more in her crib and sometimes wakes up facing the opposite way of how we put her down.  She is easy going and flexible.  She absolutely loves her daddy and lights up whenever she sees him.
We love every minute with this gal and are so grateful for her.
Happy 7 Months Sweet Kate!

Jason Aldean/ GA FL Line

We got to have a fun night out with friends last night.  Jason Aldean and GA FL Line at Aaron's Amphitheatre.  It was a blast.

But it made me feel old... What in the world are these girls (and some boys) wearing these days!?

Lots of patriotism...

But this girl takes the cake... "the boss"

OMG.
Seriously?

I think we spent the first hour of the show people watching.  It was too much.

We had so much fun and danced the night away-- even with our bellys and bottoms covered up!

Blessed.

Mother's Day took on a whole new meaning this year.

I never quite understood how much I was capable of loving another human being until this girl came into our lives.  She is truly the best thing that ever happened to me.

I had a fabulous first mother's day.  I got to spend it with my own marm and my sweet aunt maggie.  Ben spoiled us all day.. Breakfast from Ike and Jane, hot stone pedicures from urban sanctuary, steaks on the grill for dinner.  It was relaxing and fun and perfect.

I couldn't be more grateful for my mom.  Not just this week when she dropped everything and flew down to Georgia as soon as I said "I need you".  She has truly done that for me my whole life.  Those 3 words are all it takes.  She is the most selfless woman I know and I am so grateful and so blessed.  How lucky am I that this is my model of motherhood?  I can only pray I can be to Kate what she is to me.

I am one blessed gal.  Grateful for my mom, my mother-in-law (love ya tee-tah, cant wait to celebrate you next weekend) and all my other "second moms"

Oh, and I am beyond blessed and grateful to be this gal's mama.

Happy Mother's Day 2014

She's better!

We have had quite the week... Kate's Hand Foot Mouth cleared up and in came a double ear infection AND thrush.  Poor thing.  She was miserable all week.  We are so grateful for DiDi coming and loving on our cranky gal all week.  Truly don't know what we would have done without her.

Finally Saturday am we got our smiley girl back.

We still had to go to the pediatrician for a 2nd Rocephin injection, but that doctor didn't scare her...

Does it get any better than that face?

We spent the rest of the day snuggling on the couch and watched Kate's first Disney movie-- Frozen.  She actually was kind of loving it.  (especially the credits, ha)

Saturday night Ben and I had a much needed date night!  Michael Jackson Cirque Du Soleil.  The show as amazing and even better Kate slept the whole night for us! Halleilujah, she's better.

7 Months and Hand Foot Mouth?

We woke up Saturday night to Kate laying in her crib and just moaning.  No cries... just a constant little moan.  We went to check on her and the girl was burning up.  104 degree fever.  After a slight panic and middle of the night phone call to the nurse on call, we gave her more Tylenol and put her back to bed.  She still had a fever in the morning and then we noticed this...

Poor baby.  Her mouth was covered in these little blisters.  I called our pediatrician again and what do you know?  Hand Foot Mouth Disease.  Seriously? What in the world.
This poor little princess, if there is a sickness she can catch, she is catching it! Well apparently this is contagious... like you can't go to daycare for a week contagious.. And its a virus, so you just have to wait.. and give tylenol.... and wait... and snuggle.  A lot of snuggling.

So that is how we celebrated Kate's 7 month bday...

Needless to say.. We haven't had our 7 month photo shoot.  Hopefully it is coming very soon.

For now, DiDi to the rescue to keep Kate for the week and continue her medicine of lots of snuggles.
