Memorial Day Weekend 2016

Memorial Day Weekend was quite the whirlwind!

Ben has to work like 100,000 hours every memorial day due to pools opening, so I decided to pack up the kiddos and trek on up to Virginia for the Guthrie Family Reunion!

We made a pit stop in Charlotte.. This pic kind of sums up how that went- both kids in my bed, AWAKE.  Yikes... So grateful for Will and JoJo letting us come crash and pull all nighters at their house!  Love that Kay fam.

We made it to Charlottesville first thing Friday morning and both kids passed out about 5 minutes before we pulled into the driveway.  Needless to say, more no sleep that day!

We had a fun day and night in Charlottesville and then we all woke up early Saturday morning to head on down to the Homestead.
Let me just tell you... this place is spectacular.
We pulled up and Kate said "we're staying at Ana and Elsa's house!"

These babes were ready to explore!

Lot's of fun in the sun with our cousin Jack.  Kate and him were quite the pair this weekend. So cute.  Wish we were closer and got to see them more.

Bruce continued his sleep boycott and only slept in a stroller or a car. Not a bad view for naptime though!

After "naps" we got to go to a petting zoo and bounce house playground.
Kate was in heaven.

MRG was pretty happy too.

Later in the evening we spiffed ourselves up and headed out to dinner with the whole Guthrie clan.  Lots of fun to see so many that we haven't seen in years.
I attempted to get a picture of my kids together (fail).  But they sure did look cute to go see the kinfolk!

Sunday was a little rainy, but it didn't stop us from running around, playing on the playground, and climbing lots of stairs in that hotel

We even ventured over for an indoor swim in the fabulous homestead pool!

Sunday night was a Memorial Day picnic with a band, BBQ, and fireworks

Our crew tore up the dance floor.
Kate definitely got the party started

Kate has a special twinkle in her eye for her Uncle Dino.
Man, she adores him and may just have him wrapped around her little finger.
They spun and spun around the dancefloor ALL NIGHT

Until they took a break for him to give her ice cream....

Oh, and cotton candy...

Such a fun weekend with this sweet family of mine.

Happy Memorial Day Everyone!
