We packed up our car like the Beverly Hillbillies for a few days in Alpharetta with the whole Nyquist crew.
With 2 kids and a dog, we literally looked like we were coming for a month!
Poor Wrigley..
Kate was so excited to be with her cousins
Christmas Eve we had a fun day full of food and drinking. We got to see lots of old friends and just relax and catch up.
We really didn't have to pay a second of attention to Kate all day because she was in 7th heaven with her sweet cousins
Unfortunately, the afternoon ended with a quick trip to the urgent care for my little B man.
Another ear infection
He tried to rally for Christmas Eve, but in the end decided to just stay up all night waiting for Santa ;)
These cousins are just the cutest.
Am I right?
Christmas morning was full of some serious excitement and chaos.
This guy... so sick and miserable, but so sweet.
Kate wasn't totally sure what was going on but was pretty happy being around her cousins and opening presents.
Her "birthday cake" toy was her first present which she immediately wanted to open and play with. After a few minutes I asked her if she wanted to open another present..
"No, I happy"
She started figuring it out and opened presents and clapped and was just so excited.
This princess dress was just too much... she had to just roll around on the floor for a bit
The kids played and played and played all morning
Kate was super excited about her new bike (although she needs to grow another inch for it! whoops!)
(and maybe drinking some of their beer! Thanks Donges'!)
On Saturday the boys and Kate went to see Star Wars. I stayed home with our little girly girls and sick b dub.
These head phones were definitely a hit...
(and mom and dad might be just as excited!)
Sweet snuggles with our sick boy who was very happy to be home and decided to finally get some sleep (phew)
Did I mention it was like 80 degrees and rainy the whole week of Christmas? Crazy!
So we definitely took advantage of the sun when it finally came out!
Soaking it all in...
Despite lack of sleep and sickness, it was a Merry Merry Christmas.
Loved every second of being with our amazing family and friends. So grateful for all of our many blessings and my heart is so full.
Can't believe Christmas is over and a new year is beginning.
Merry Christmas from the Nyquists!
(this is the only family pic we got... sporting all of our great presents from Uncle Pete!)
