A Family Filled Weekend and a Baptism

My heart is happy whenever we have family in town.  It is even happier when we get 75 degrees and sunny in the middle of March.  We had a fabulous weekend.

DiDi, MRG, JM, and Erica all came down on Saturday.  We spent the day soaking up the sun at Pulaski Heights BBQ and then the UGA baseball game.  The game was cut short due to an explosive diaper... we won't get into any more details about that...

On Sunday we all headed downtown to First United Methodist for Kate's baptism.  Ben and I also joined the church on Sunday, so we are super excited about that.
Kate was beautiful.  I did a horrible job at taking pictures and the ones that we got do not even come close to doing justice to the GORGEOUS dress that my mom made for her.  It seriously could not have been more beautiful and it will be such a special heirloom.  Love our DiDi.. She is awesome.

Waiting patiently for church to begin

You can't tell in any of the pictures, but this girl gave the Pastor the biggest grin you have ever seen when she went up there..  too sweet

 Proud parents

With the Guthrie clan (we missed Aunt Katie and Uncle Brendino!)

Baby Will and his momma and Grandparents came too!  Love them

The Nyquist/Donges crew.  Those kids were angels in church! I was very impressed!

Kate and her sweet godparents

Hattie did a great job of testing out and breaking in all of Kate's toys... Now maybe Kate can figure out what to do with them.  These 2 just melt my heart.  Future best friends :)

Getting baptized will wear a girl right out....

We have a tradition in my family of getting lei's for special events like weddings, birthdays, and now I guess, baptisms!  Aunt Meg and Aunt Claire sent these for us.  They were beautiful and smelled heavenly.

We couldn't resist doing a little photo shoot of sweet Kate with the lei's...

It was a fabulous weekend..  It meant the world to us to have almost all of our family here for it.  And look... Kate is already taking this church thing pretty seriously, saying her prayers!
